Text to Self:
In this chapter Bruno went over to apologize to Shmuel because he felt very, very sorry for what he did to him. Thankfully, Shmuel forgave him, because thats just what friends do. And for the first time, Shmuel lifted up the fence from where Bruno gives him food, and shook Bruno's hand. I can relate to this because me and my brother get in many fights on stupid things everyday, but eventually we forgive and move on. Text to Text: This part of the chapter can relate to the movie "Separated at birth" and how the script matches this lesson. There are lots of times in that show that everyone asks for forgiveness to each other, which each and every character already has. Text to Society: In the end of chapter 16, we have discovered that Gretel and Bruno have lice in their hair. Gretel has to use and smelly shampoo that is like rotting bugs, when Bruno here has to shave off his hair. The last line in the chapter is that Shmuel says that Bruno is now just like him, but fatter. I think the author is stressing this statement because Bruno cares about his hair being shaved off, and he's lucky to even have that. There are other people all over the entire world, who aren't lucky enough to have what he has. Bruno cares about his hair shaved, and will still grow back, but thats the only thing, sometimes, nobody on the other side of the fence doesn't even had one strand. Your lucky for what you have, never forget it.
