![]() It was a cold, damp morning, Mitch walking up the steps to Morrie's house. This is the final meet up of The coach and player until Morrie is no longer here to teach. Charlotte had called the day before, telling him Morrie isn't doing well. He had canceled all of his appointments and been sleeping lately, which he usually never sleeps and He is informed that today isn't the best for Morrie. He walks in the study, no Morrie. he peeks in the bedroom. There he is, all weak and frail. He is still sleeping, even at 10pm. His voice was raspy and smelled of ointment. They say their goodbyes. Mitch has touched Morrie, says he's a great soul. Mitch really touched Morrie. They love each other, and Mitch does not want to say goodbye, nor does he know how. For the first time, Morrie made him cry. Mitch will miss Morrie and wont forget to talk to him, and he will listen. ![]() In this Chapter we discuss Morrie's perfect day. Mitch thinks that his perfect day, without any health issues at all for twenty-four hours, would be a trip to Italy or to have lunch with the President. However, Morrie's perfect day would be... To wake up in the morning and do his exercises, have a lovely breakfast of sweet rolls and tea, go for a swim, and have his friends come over for a nice lunch. He would have them come at one or two at a time so he could talk to them about family issues, and how much they mean to each other. Then he would go for a walk, in the garden and watch their colors, the birds, take in the nature that he hadn't seen in so long. In the Evening, they would all get together to a restaurant, with some great pasta, his beloved duck, and then they would dance the rest of the night.. Since he would be so exhausted, he would go back home to find a deep and wonderful sleep awaiting for him. My Perfect day is if I won one of my dance competitions. That would mean the world to me! I would take thousands of pictures with the judges, teachers, friends and family who are there to congratulate me. Then we would go out to eat later on, at my favorite restaurant Portabellos and have a lovely dinner. That would be the best day of my life, so far, because you never know what awaits for you! In this chapter we learn that you should forgive. This is important because when you forgive it means you want to start over with that person that you made a mistake with. I 100% agree with that statement. We hear that Morrie had a friend named Norman, and Morrie never forgave him for what he did. Norman ended up with cancer and died. He says its very impotant to forgive because you never know what could happen any day of the week. This made Morrie feel abandoned and sad. Morrie wanted Mitch to be his son but Mitch thought that would be disrespectful to his actual dad.
![]() In this chapter, Mitch and Morrie talk about each of their cultures. On My dad's side, I am 75% Italian. I am always eating something new, but the funny thing is I'm a picky eater, but no one else is. I am fed cakes, pastries some of which no one knows of, chicken, racks of lamb, meatballs, pasta, anything Italian guarantee my family eats, except for meat. I only eat chicken, burgers, meatballs, tacos, and hot dogs. My immediate family does not speak Italian, my dad knows this and that, but my grandparents and uncles are born in Italy, which is awesome! But on my moms side, we don't really celebrate much culture. Both my moms parents died, her older sister lives in Florida and her younger sister lives in Long Island. We don't see each other often, but when we do we make it count! In this chapter, Morrie says "marriage is a test, in it, you learn who you are, who the other person is, and how you can or cannot make the relationship work." He means that marriage is a very important thing, and it is a test for how much you really love someone. On Mitch and Morrie's 10th Tuesday together, Mitch brings his wife, Janine. Morrie had been asking about her since the first day they met up. They discuss how Morrie is feeling, not sleeping enough, and needs much oxygen almost nightly now. Mitch Morrie and Janine chatted about how they all met. They laughed and shed a few tears. We hear that Janine is a professional singer and sings for Morrie. She is amazing. Morrie tries to do the least bit of dancing that he can, but not much. They talked a lot and enjoyed the time with each other. The time came where they had to depart from etcher. Morrie ended the day with the most lovely quote "Love each other or perish.
![]() In this chapter we talk about how Morrie is dying more and more every Tuesday, and will shortly come to an end. We learn that even though After Morrie dies, He will still be in everyones heart and his love for everyone will continue. Morris love for his friends and family will never die, although Morrie will. Someone in my life like this is my grandpa. He passed away one year ago from today. The last time I saw him I was 5. We tried to get many visits, but it never worked our because he had flying issues and doctor appointments. I guess it was his time, just like Morrie's. ![]() In this chapter, we learn that many wealthy people in the world choose to handle their money poorly. We hear that a man started to cry because he didn't get what he wanted. You see, if you get too involved with money, this is what happens. You become selfish brats that do't think of anyone but themselves. Some people are boastful and make other people feel like they have nothing. Well, money doesn't grow on trees and sometimes, people have to work extremely hard of what they get. However, there are unbelievable caring wealthy people in the world willing to share, and have a personality you will never forget. Not everyone is rich and rude, but wealthy and wonderful. Being selfish will never get you anywhere in life. Remember, Money can not buy happiness. On the Seventh Tuesday with Mitch and Morrie, we talk about aging. More is perfectly fine with aging. Actually, he encourages it. Someone like this is my grandma. She can cook like you haven't ever seen before! She knows she is getting older, but that doesn't stop her, she goes out on walks every day. She recently had a tumor in her wrist, but that was just a small bump in the road. She still made sure there was food on the table, Christmas shopping was finished, and everyone is happy. I love my grandma and I thank her every day.
If I could come back to life as an animal, I would be a snow leopard. I would be in my own world, with no issues to come. They are a beautiful animal to its society. They don't push others down, accept if they are looking for dinner, but they lift them back up. They don't abandon their new borns, they stay with them, until it is their time to go. hey take care of each other. They don't have much to fear, because where they come from, all they have to deal with is polar bears. They dint have to do anything with isis, or any of these life threatening terrorist groups. The worst they could approach are hunters, which aren't really looking for snow leopards out in Antarctica. This animal is a beautiful creature to nature and to its society.
In this chapter we read that Morrie is getting sicker by the day. His disease is slowly making its way up his body, soon to take over his lungs. He is constantly coughing and hacking, and is always loosing his breath. This took off much time from Mitch's visits, but he still enjoyed spending the time with him. He also is not able to eat what he once was able too. He has to eat soft foods and drink only liquids. When Morrie is finding troubles with his breathing, he closes his eyes, and takes himself to his happy place.
In this chapter we discuss about family. We learn about having children, having a family, and everyone around them and how it makes you feel great. Morris's family is all around him. His great if it wonderful people around him. Then we hear about Mitch's family. We hear about the death of his mother again and how he has an older sister and a younger brother. His brother has blonde hair, hazel-colored eyes, and is two years younger than Mitch. And he remembers how him and his dark haired sister used to tease his that a random person rang the doorbell and left him at the doorstep because of how different they looked from each other. Mitch lost touch with his siblings. His brother had been diagnosed with cancel, and never answers any calls for help.
In this chapter we learn that Mitch wrote a list about a couple things they wanted to go over. There was "Death, Fear, Aging, Greed, Marriage, Family, Society. Forgiveness, and a meaningful life." this was wrote in the previous chapter, On Mitch's way home. When Mitch first arrives at Morrie's home, he finds him to be wearing a portable oxygen tank about knee high. When ever he couldn't get enough air to swallow, he would attach the tube to his nostrils like a leech. This made Mitch annoyed and uncomfotorable because he hated the idea of Morrie connected under a machine. As soon as they get settled, They begin talking about death. "Everyone knows they will die, but nobody believes it" Morrie says. He begins to write, scribbling a few incomprehensible notes that only he can read. They also talk about being prepared to die. He explains for you to be like the Buddhists and have a bird on your shoulder saying "Is today the day. Am I the person I want to be. Is today the day I die?" So Mitch and Morrie continue until Mitch left back home to Detroit.
"Teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops." -Henry Adams. Every teacher affects the world. Their influence on people never stops. Teachers inspire, help, and provide what you need for the rest of your life. They guide you through tough times, happy times, and no matter what happens, they will always have time for you. Their wonderful influence on you never gives up. They want you to be a great person and will always be by your side to help.
In This Chapter of Tuesdays with Morrie, The discuss about regrets.
Mitch Brings a tape recorder to Morrie's home along with bags of groceries. When Morrie is gone, Mitch still wanted to hear his voice, and remember what they talked about. Morrie wants the tape recorder because he wants his story of be heard. "So" he said. "Is it on?" Mitch switched on the recorder and listened to Morrie. He told his story. He spoke about the truth, and how you can't be afraid to die. On the way home, Mitch wrote a list of things that he wanted to go over with Morrie, such as Death, Rear, Aging, Greed, Marriage, Family, Society, Forgiveness, and a Meaningful life. So Mitch continued trudging home, through the boing hot air, with sweat dripping down his face as they pass by the frustrated people, who seem as it they are ready to kill someone. |
