Author: Mitch Albom
In this chapter we learn that Mitch wrote a list about a couple things they wanted to go over. There was "Death, Fear, Aging, Greed, Marriage, Family, Society. Forgiveness, and a meaningful life." this was wrote in the previous chapter, On Mitch's way home. When Mitch first arrives at Morrie's home, he finds him to be wearing a portable oxygen tank about knee high. When ever he couldn't get enough air to swallow, he would attach the tube to his nostrils like a leech. This made Mitch annoyed and uncomfotorable because he hated the idea of Morrie connected under a machine. As soon as they get settled, They begin talking about death. "Everyone knows they will die, but nobody believes it" Morrie says. He begins to write, scribbling a few incomprehensible notes that only he can read. They also talk about being prepared to die. He explains for you to be like the Buddhists and have a bird on your shoulder saying "Is today the day. Am I the person I want to be. Is today the day I die?" So Mitch and Morrie continue until Mitch left back home to Detroit.
