THE AWAKENING
OF
SUNSHINE GIRL
By: Christina
Sunshine hears sound downstairs. not Aidan, although she hears Aidan, she hears another man, preferably loud, almost yelling Spanish. All she could make out of their conversation was "Buenos noches" which means goodnight. she heard footsteps go separate ways and two different doors shut. She knew there was someone else with her and Aidan in the house, but could not think of anyone she knew, or remember Aidan talking about. Sunshine climbs back into bed and waits for her to fall asleep. soon enough, Sunshine falls asleep for the first time in her new house. While she is sleeping, her nightmare starts off bearable. There is a woman standing over her inbed, preferably beautiful. she smiles at sunshine, automatically sunshine smiles back. she reached out to hold sunshine, and put her hands on her, but right then a slight difference changed I'm the woman's eye. Almost like her face shifted in 1 second. The beautiful woman now put her kind hands into fists and her eyes narrowed. She bit her tongue so she could hold in her scream until later. Sunshine climbed out of bed onto the floor to run and scream. But she couldn't. She physically couldn't. She could't talk or move. almost like a coma, but she could move around. She looked down to make sure her legs were even there, or if they were gone, or split in half. But when she looked, they weren't even her own legs. they were the legs of a baby. She was a baby. all she could do was kick and cry. she threw her baby arms in the air, trying to figure out what that could do, but it was useless.
All of a sudden everything went blank and sunshine bursted out of her dream.

Here is the passage:
That woman brought me to a rain-saturated town in the northwestern corner of the United States. She claimed this is where the girl lived. She told me her name: Sunshine Griffith, and I struggled to hide my smile. The girl’s light was so bright that even the human who named her could sense it. But we were too late. Aidan had already come and gone, taking the girl with him. Of course, I know exactly where he was headed when he left, but I can’t go there. Not anymore. None of my people can get there. When we left, we also gave up the ability to step over its borders, wide as they stretch. Even that woman says she can’t go there now. Which means I have no more use for her. Although her birthright as a luiseach protected her from being permanently killed at the hands of a demon, she no longer has the power to see spirits and help them move on. Perhaps she’ll try to live out her days as a human, though even she must sense the darkness gathering in the corners of the world. Sometimes I envy humans and their ignorance. They’ll never have to do what I have to. Even Aidan wasn’t selfless enough to go through with it. But the woman begs me not to leave her behind. She pleads for a place at my side. I tell her I have no reason to keep her—after all, the only information she offered me was a dead end. I say perhaps she knew that it would be. I suggest she may have been working for Aidan all along. I’ll make my way south and wait as close to the campus as possible. They can’t stay hidden inside forever. But before I leave that woman behind, she tells me that although the girl may be gone, her protector is still close by. And she offers to take me to him. So I choose to keep that woman close. And I choose to stay. For now. CREDITS: http://www.ivampiresbook.com/newest-books/The-Awakening-of-Sunshine-Girl/page_23.html They land in Mazatlan and head over to the house. The road goes beyond the beaches and boardwalk shops, and into the rainforest up a hill. The road seems to be more of a path than a real street. The father they drove, the ground got more uneven. Suddenly Aidan makes a sharp left turn into what looks like almost a plaza of buildings. Sunshine compares it to a university, by the looks of it. "It sort of is" said Aidan "My wife and I ran it" Sunshines's heart dropped when he said "wife" She didn't know what to say. Sunshine makes sure their talking about the same person, "You mean my mom, right?" After saying "My mom" she now would like to refer to her as "My birth Mother" or "Aidan's wife". Soon enough, As Sunshine almost feels relieved, She opens the door and steps into the house. House? More like Mansion. "This place is huge"
(By now they are sitting on first class on the plain, going to Mexico. Appearently Sunshine had many questions to ask. She is still holding off on some questions:
-Why did you abandon me? -Who is my birth mother? -Where is my birth mother? -Why isn't she here with you~with me However there are some questions she does ask -Why am I always warm around Nolan? -Why can't I touch him and not feel awkward? and more questions about luiseachs. Sunshine is just getting ready to leave. She still does not know where she is going with Aidan. Before Sunshine and Aidan head over to the airport, Sunshine and Nolan say their goodbyes. Nolan wants to kiss Sunshine, an she does to, but every time sunshine touches Nolan, she feels as if she is about to throw up. Her gag reflects come in action when she hugs him. Nolan has no clue about this and goes in for a kiss, but sunshine turns away and Nolan does not quite know what the issue is. Sunshine knows she has to tell the truth. And besides wanting to kiss Nolan, she is not sure if she wants it to be her first kiss. Especially a goodbye. As soon as she tells Nolan whats wrong, he backs away slow and steady, as if he cant run fast enough to get away from her. When they leave, Sunshine understands she hurt him. She really hurt him.
Now sunshine and Aidan are leaving for the airport leaving behind her pets, Nolan, and especially her mother. She cant say a word to her mother because she knows she will cry. When the car turns on and races away to airport, looking back at her mother until Aidan turns the car, when Sunshine can't see her mother in the distance, From the second they step in the house, she notices that this house is creepier that the house back in Ridgemont. The first thing Sunshine lays her eyes on is the staircase. Sunshine says that the stairs are so wide you could have a dozen people walk up the steps standing side to side and still fit. She also happens to see that all the furniture in the living room is covered with white sheets, as if someone dressed the couches up as ghosts for halloween and never took down the costume. Sunshine struggles to find the lights, as she drags her hands in front of her to find the light switch. She actually happens to find three. Three light switches that don't work. Three light switches that are completely worthless. She happens to run into a chandelier that has fallen, still stuck to the wires attached to the ceiling, which is quite ironic to the vines outside which look identical. Aidan runs in and says to be careful. There is a generator out back that only works for upstairs. It is not strong enough to handle the entire mansion with light. "In fact it is good that the second floor has power. Because thats where you go when it is dark, at least that is where I will be. In addition, the second floor is all yours. Sunshine is impressed to hear what he had just said. Soon enough she heads upstairs. She finds the pitch black hall just waiting for Sunshine to switch the dusty hall light on. She goes through a couple bedrooms, a bathroom, and the nursery. she believed hat Aidan put her on the second floor on purpose just so she can find her nursery, to see they actually waited for beautiful baby to be born, and not to throw it away at a Texas hospital and abandon her forever. They actually cared. Sunshine picked a nice room, with Green blue and yellow tiles from the hall, just inside her room as well. The room she chose is decorated with bright colors, with a plush carpet at her feet. The carpet is very thick she thinks it would be way to hard to puncture a hole through it, and flowery wallpaper, with bright pink splashes that she thinks decades would not be long enough for that color to fade. She flops on her bed, wanting to call nolan but realize no apology would heal him. She can take back the truth. Instead, she buries her head in a dusty pillow which actually makes her sneeze.
Sunshine began to welcome up to Aidan. She recently found out that she was in danger. Great timing since Sunshine was willing to listen to Aidan, she just figured out she was in great danger where she lived. She would have to move away with just Aidan, the two of them. No Kat, no Nolan, no friends. Sunshine wondered if she would get to see her birth mom, but no. From my perspective i can't really tell if she wanted to see her or if she wanted to give her a piece of her mind or if she didn't want to see her at all. Sunshine was really going to miss Nolan, but she wanted to make sure she is safe again, because it seems to be a spirit everywhere she steps. Sunshine does think its an excellent idea to get away from danger as soon as possible, but is hesitant especially going without anyone except Aidan.
This is another one of those little passages from the ghost that is haunting sunshine. (Not really sure yet what it exactly is this time, it changes a lot. A woman approached. She claims she was married. she claims she had a child of her own, whose life was taken by a demon. The person who was quoting this chapter is planning to eliminate the girl, and try to not let her pass her test. The person will be disappointed their goal climate her from the Earth.
Sunshine and Kat (her mom) are talking alone in the hospital room in the morning without Aidan. Sunshine also tells Kat that Aidan is nit just her father, but her mentor. A mentor is a luiseach's trainer who makes sure the luiseach they look over is safe. If Aidan was not helping Sunshine with the fainting situation, Sunshine could have died. Whether it was her body temperature too low or her heart burst, Sunshine was just thankful Aidan took the spirits away. Sunshine was afraid she would never catch her breath.
In this chapter, Sunshines real father comes to Sunshine to talk. Since Sunshine was adopted, she does seem angry and very scared to speak with him. His name is Aidan.
All of the truth comes out and mom finds out that Aidan is Sunshine's real father. She alo finds out that Sunshine is able to be met by an onslaught of spirits, which is why she had blacked out at the hospital. Mom then finds out that her daughter is not necessarily human, but known as a luiseach. Mom believes that he has no proof of any of this "fairy tales" or that he is Sunshines real father, only until she sees what they see through Aidan's power. |
