"Holding anger is a poison. It eats you from inside. We think that hating is a weapon that attacks the person who harmed us. But hatred is a curved blade. And the harm we do, we do to ourselves." This was said by Ruby when she teaches Eddie that all the anger inside of him has to be dissolved. Even though Eddie "hated" his father, when Eddie saw him in heaven, it was all different. Ruby said the harm we do is to ourselves. She was right, she meant that all that hatred in his heart was only dragging himself down, no one else but him. Thats why she told Eddie to forgive his father. I CREATED THIS PICTURE

"He screamed that word then - he screamed it so loudly that his heart throbbed. But the figure inside the booth remained hunched over, oblivious, one hand resting on the table, the other holding a cigar, never looking up, no matter how many times Eddie howled it over and over again:
Dad! Dad! Dad!" This quote to me means that Eddie just saw his father eating at a diner in heaven. HE has not seen or talked or even said the word dad in decades. Eddie finally saw him, but was disappointed when his oblivious father would not look up and answer him. Eddie wakes up in Ruby Pier, but doesn't recognize it at first. Eddie gets up, walks around, but unable to feel any pain at all, in his back, his legs, nothing at all. He can run and jump and walk without using his cane. Eddie realizes that Ruby pier is not at it's current date, it was from when he was a child. All of a sudden from the corner of his eye, Eddie notices a man coming toward him with blue skin. The Blue man talks to Eddie saying that he knew Eddie since he was a child. Eddie killed the Blue Man while he was driving. The Blue Man worked at a circus and was frequently called a "freak" or "scary" to most children and adults. Eddie at first did not recognize the man. The Blue Man kept telling Eddie that he killed him, but Eddie was't buying it. The man showed Eddie a flashback, and Eddie caused the man to have a heart attack since he jumped in front of the Blue Man's car and swerved off the road. Eddie intact went to his funeral, not knowing he was the cause of his friend's death.
The Blue man speaks with Eddie as soon as Eddie saw that he caused his death. The Blue Man. The Blue man then told Eddie he will meet 5 people in heaven that were involved in his life all 83 years. During Eddies Birthday, Him and Joe were playing catch and Eddie throws his ball off the boardwalk. Q: How did the Blue Man die? A: Eddie jumped infant of his car while he was driving and the Blue man got scared and panicked and swerved off the road. He died due to a heart attack. Q: What was the blue mans real name? In the very first chapter of The Five People You Meet In Heaven, we meet Eddie. He has a job at Ruby Pier to check and test all the rides to make sure its safe. Ruby Pier is also where Eddie met his true love, Marguerite. He met her in late 1940's. Eddie remembers he danced with Marguerite and bought her lemon fizz. The narrator talks about Eddie's old friend Nicky, who had just begun to drive and kept loosing his key. At the end of the chapter, we learn that Nicky's key goes missing, which was the cause of the loose cart. This chapter takes place the last hour of Eddie's life. It starts off with Eddie walking around the amusement park, and goes about his day. He tested some rides and made a pipe cleaner animal for a little girl, since Eddie loved children. Eddie was wandering around until an unfamiliar lady's voice screamed "Oh my God!" Eddie turns around just to realize a loose cart hanging off of Freddy's Free Fall ride. As Dominguez was getting the passengers out, Eddie noticed that the cart’s cable was unraveling. Eddie yelled for Willy not to release the cart but no one heard him. The carts began falling and one killed Eddie. The end of the chapter recalls the day Eddie was born; it is the 1920’s and his father was in the hospital waiting room with the other fathers-to-be. The nurse leads Eddie's father to the nursery to see Eddie. Q: What do you think the "white" in the story meant A: This probably meant that Eddie just died and is entering heaven Q: Why did Eddie and his brother stop talking? A: One day at Ruby Pier when Eddie was younger, Eddie heard his brother scream. Apparently his brother was about to be beat up. Eddie found two lids of garbage cans and sent two kids to the hospital. Joe didn't like it because his little brother rescued him. |
